Boc-PNA Monomers

Originally, PNA oligomers were synthesized by solid-phase methods involving the aggregation of the corresponding PNA monomers bearing Boc/Cbz protecting groups. Although they require harsh reaction conditions for deprotection and cleavage (usually HF or TFA and hydrogen), the PNAs can more easily be purified as both protecting groups have volatile, hence easily removable by-products.

ASM has been manufacturing Boc-modified PNA monomers for the past 15 years. Our Boc/Cbz-PNA monomers can be ordered from stock in up to 50 g  quantities.
